Coronavirus Threat

Please read this update on FEBS 2020 in relation to the coronavirus situation.

The 45th FEBS Congress Local Organizing Committee is continuing to work hard to bring you an excellent scientific event, and a current focus is managing the review of over 1300 abstracts submitted into the poster track.

However, safety of participants and mitigation of coronavirus (COVID-19) spread are top priorities. The local organizers and FEBS are closely monitoring developments in relation to coronavirus, and in particular guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and local government authorities, and will implement appropriate public health measures.

While we hope the situation will stabilise by the summer, at this time we advise you that we are exploring postponement of the FEBS Congress (and preceding FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum), and a final decision will be made on this by the end of April 2020. Please bear this information in mind, as well as the travel advice of your government and your travel insurer, if considering flight and accommodation booking.

FEBS has twin commitments to high-quality publications and the promotion of molecular biosciences. As a charitable academic organization,
FEBS uses income from the journals to fund its diverse activities, including support for the FEBS Congress.
