YSF venue

The 20th FEBS YSF will take place at the Hotel Excelsior (4*) in the town of Lovran, the Opatija Riviera, Croatia. The hotel is situated right on the Adriatic Sea and it is surrounded by a tree-filled park. 

The hotel was completely refurbished in 2015 and offers spacious rooms and excellent facilities for meetings and conventions. 

Lovran (Italian: Laurana, German: Lauran) is a town in Istria, Croatia. It is situated on the western coast of the Kvarner Bay with a population of 4101 (2011 census). It took its name from laurel (Laurus nobilis), which is common in the evergreen groves of the town and area.

Lovran is one of the oldest coastal settlements on the eastern shore of Istrian peninsula. It may have first developed as a summer residence for the Roman statesman Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa in the first century AD, and in the early Middle Ages, before the rise of other port towns in the vicinity, it was an important urban and shipbuilding centre of the northern Adriatic. By the mid-19th century, the area became a fashionable resort for the Austro-Hungarian nobility and it has been a popular tourist destination ever since, drawing on its location, well-preserved nature and heritage.

Accommodation

Participants will be accommodated in shared rooms for the 20th FEBS YSF in the Remisens Hotel Excelsior, Lovran, Croatia, from 30 June – 3 July 2021 (3 nights) and for the 45th FEBS Congress in the Hotel Park, Ljubljana, Slovenia from 3–8 July 2021 (5 nights).

YSF participants do not need to book a room or pay accommodation fees. The YSF Organizing Committee will take care of this, in collaboration with the Congress Organizers and FEBS.

Travel 

Information about travel to Lovran and organized transportation to the 45th FEBS Congress in Ljubljana, Slovenia, will be available in due course.
